Oni’s Sold-Out XINO #1 Returns to Press with Second Printing

By Josh PiedraJune 21, 2023

The debut issue of the all-new, limited-series event XINO from Oni Press, the multiple Eisner and Harvey award-winning publisher of comic books and graphic novels, has sold out and will be going back to print for the XINO #1 Second Printing Variant – on sale July 19th, alongside XINO #2!

XINO

XINO #1 is the first of three, 40-page intra-ocular lozenges of subversive, psych-surrealist science fiction from Oni’s brightest talents—past, present, and future—as they slowly tune your hopes, dreams, desires, paranoia, alienation, anxiety, and adrenaline to produce the desired results. The first issue included work from rising stars Melissa Flores (The Dead Lucky, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) and Daniel Irizarri (Judge Dredd), cult phenoms Christopher Condon (That Texas Blood) and Nick Cagnetti (Pink Lemonade), underground radicals Jordan Thomas (Weird Work) and Shaky Kane (Bulletproof Coffin), and master cartoonist and foundational Oni creator Phil Hester (Gotham City: Year One, The Coffin).

The XINO #1 Second Printing Variant, featuring the stunning cover artwork by Matt Lesniewski (Mind MGMT Bootleg) with a new color treatment by Sarah Rockwell, is currently available for order and will FOC alongside XINO #2 this weekend in advance of both issues’ July 19 on-sale date.

“With a sold-out first issue and non-stop critical acclaim, XINO is striking a main nerve for fans, retailers, and the comics community at large,” said Oni Press President & Publisher Hunter Gorinson. “Look for that to continue as each issue of XINO ratchets up the tension over the summer…and Oni prepares to unleash even more high-intensity series from some of the most exciting and ambitious creators anywhere in the industry today.’

XINO #2 is set to hit stands on July 19 and will include:

  • Eisner-winning master cartoonist David Lapham (Stray Bullets) and co-writer Maria Lapham force our collective psyche into unrecognizable new dimensions
  • Award-winning and bestselling author Alex Segura (Secret Identity) and Eisner Award winner Zander Cannon (Kaijumax) embark on an intergalactic journey of revenge
  • Up-and-coming creators Hagai Palevsky and illustrator Carson Thorn invert the work-life balance of corporate America
  • François Vigneault (Titan) and Artyom Trakhanov (First Knife) deliver bleeding-edge technology to Paleolithic man
  • Alissa Sallah (Weeaboo) brings all-too-human nature to the barren landscape of Mars

Here’s what people are saying about XINO:

“If you prefer your sci-fi with a dose of psychedelia, Xino is for you. If you like your sci-fi comics as weird as they are high-concept, then you’ll definitely want to be on the lookout for Xino. This new anthology series from Oni Press promises to deliver plenty of both, making the series the perfect option to fill the wait until those new episodes of Black Mirror drop.”—IGN

“A tasty sampling platter of talented creators and bite-sized genre fiction.”—COMICBOOK.COM

“An absolute who’s who of rising creators. Every story in this collection is a banger, and I can’t recommend it enough.”—COMICS BEAT

“A fun collection of creepy and weird tales that has something for everyone.”—BIFF BAM POP
