Babylon 5: The Road Home Revealed, Cast Announced!

Depending on who you are and when you grew up, Babylon 5 might have been one of the best sci-fi series you’ve ever watched. Created by J. Michael Straczynski, the story of the “last of the Babylon stations” told a compelling narrative across five seasons and to this day remains a standout of the genre. Not the least is because they seriously predicted the future on certain political levels. But that’s another topic entirely. JMS already revealed that a reboot was coming, but now, we have full details on the animated project he was also working on that’s releasing this summer, Babylon 5: The Road Home.

The synopsis for the animated feature, as documented by The Hollywood Reporter, reveals that a fan-favorite character will be back as the focus for the film, and the plot will tie into what came before and more:

“Travel across the galaxy with John Sheridan as he unexpectedly finds himself transported through multiple timelines and alternate realities in a quest to find his way back home. Along the way he reunites with some familiar faces, while discovering cosmic new revelations about the history, purpose, and meaning of the Universe.”

If you’re curious, yes, some of the actors from the original show will return to their classic roles, such as Bruce Boxleitner as John Sheridan, Claudia Christian as Susan Ivanova, Peter Jurasik as Londo Mollari, Bill Mumy as Lennier, Tracy Scoggins as Elizabeth Lochley and Patricia Tallman as Lyta Alexander.

Sadly, many of the castmates for the original show have passed on over the years. So new actors will be brought in to voice them. Some of the new additions include Paul Guyet as Zathras and Jeffery Sinclair, Anthony Hansen as Michael Garibaldi, Mara Junot as Reporter and Computer Voice, Phil LaMarr as Dr. Stephen Franklin, Piotr Michael as David Sheridan, Andrew Morgado as G’Kar and Rebecca Riedy as Delenn.

JMS has promised that fans of the original series will love the animated feature. No release date has been given for Babylon 5: The Road Home just yet.
