Ubisoft Reverses Position, Won’t Do E3 2023

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse for E3 2023, it got worse. If you recall, the Electronic Entertainment Expo was planning on doing a big “return show” this year after being off for multiple years due to the pandemic and other factors. However, Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo immediately backed out of doing the show. Some are even hosting their own private events around that time. One of the few holdouts to stay with the show was Ubisoft…until today, that is.

We say that because Ubisoft dropped a statement revealing they wouldn’t be going to E3 2023 and would follow in others’ footsteps by doing their own thing.

“E3 has fostered unforgettable moments across the industry throughout the years. While we initially intended to have an official E3 presence, we’ve made the subsequent decision to move in a different direction, and will be holding a Ubisoft Forward Live event on 12th June in Los Angeles. We look forward to sharing more details with our players very soon.”

While E3 has tried to remain positive about things, one has to wonder who will be at the show and how much they’ll be doing there.
