Play detective in the upcoming visual novel TRON: Identity

Tron Identity Reveal 1000x563

I’ve been a huge fan of Disney’s TRON ever since I wanted the original movie when I was a child, and the film was a big reason why I got involved with IT. Since then, anything and everything that was TRON has been on my radar, including the fantastic TRON: Uprising (seriously, bring it back, Disney), which was canceled for some bizarre reason. But now, a new TRON property is on the horizon, TRON: Identity.

Set in the video game universe, TRON: Identity tells the tale of a new Grid that has been forgotten by its creator that has witnessed an unprecedented crime. Everything I’ve seen so far about the game doesn’t state that either of the Flynn’s are connected, so this could be a completely new Grid created for this game. But I’d be lying if I didn’t want to see either Kevin or Sam being featured. Or, for that matter, TRON.

TRON: Identity is a visual novel that will follow Query, a detective program that has been tasked with finding out who committed this crime and bringing them to justice. For those who enjoy detective games, this will be one to look out for, as you’ll be grilling suspects to find out what they know and ultimately find out the who and why. Every decision you make will influence the story and the game’s outcome.

TRON: Identity was teased five months ago during Disney’s D23 event and is being developed by Bithell Games, the same team behind John Wick Hex and Thomas Was Alone. Interestingly, this sort of gameplay involving TRON hasn’t been thought of before, and honestly, it sounds like something I’d enjoy.

TRON: Identity is scheduled for an April 2023 release for the Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam). I’m looking forward to diving back into the world that is TRON because I’ve been gone for far too long.
