As we learned in the last Nintendo Direct back in September, the Super Mario Movie will arrive in 2022 in theaters and the voice cast for it is...unique. But one of the voices that many were the most interested in for one reason or another was that of Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong. Who will apparently be a supporting character in that movie…but not for long…
Because according to Giant Freaking Robot, Illumination is already working on a Donkey Kong animated movie starring Rogen.
To be clear, this is just a rumor as of yet, but given the popularity of DK, and the fact that he’s already had an animated series before (it was terrible, but whatever), it wouldn’t be a stretch to have Nintendo and Illumination focus on the DK Crew next.
