Death’s Door Boss Guide: How to defeat The Last Lord Second Encounter

Hey, welcome back! You’ve already checked out our first boss guide on taking down the Last Lord… you did, didn’t you? Anyway, you read it, and now you’re ready to tackle the second boss fight. The good thing is there’s no door dodging here. However, this time the Last Lord will utilize attacks from ALL of the prior bosses — sort of like another character my fellow Dark Souls fans likely have encountered.

But no worries, I’ve beaten him, and thanks to this guide, you can as well.

How to beat the Last Lord for good

At the start of the encounter, the Last Lord will use a rolling attack to flatten you, dodge it. He’ll then proceed to use his hopping smash attack three times in a row, with a single urn being tossed out during the smashing. Dodge that! He’ll repeat the smashing attack; however, it will shoot out three waves of energy this time. Run towards the point that he previously jumped from to avoid them.

Next, he’ll hover in the air and will attempt to target you with a laser beam (yes, fricken laser beams). It gets a bit complicated to avoid as there will be several doors being shot at you as well. Try to dodge it all if you can.

At this point, he’ll repeat the phase starting with the rolling attack. Occasionally, he’ll attempt to trap you by tossing a spell on you that locks you in place. To get out of it, you’ll need to smash the attack or jump button rapidly.

It’s a straightforward fight, much different than the prior encounter with the Last Lord. Get your hits when you can, but this fight is all about survival over damage output. But if you managed to get those hidden items to boost your health, you can afford to be reckless.
