New Ghostrunner DLC Metal Ox Pack Announced, Switch Physical Version In The Works

By Keith MitchellApril 12, 2021
Ghostrunner Metal OX Pack DLC

Update: Yesterday we reported on the Ghostrunner Metal Ox Pack DLC, and today we have official confirmation. This new DLC will be made available for all platforms today. A new free update for the game will introduce a Kill Run mode and is also being released as of today.

The free updates launching today include Kill Run Mode, a game mode with strict time goals and Dharma Tower’s greatest challenge. In Kill Run Mode, players slay enemies to add precious seconds to the timer, dash through sections as quickly as possible, and ascend to new heights on the leaderboards. Players can also capture their most stylish moments from a whole new perspective with Photo Mode. Break the fourth wall for the perfect angle and see Ghostrunner’s entrancing cyberpunk world like never before.

There’s also confirmation that a physical version of Ghostrunner is in development for the Switch and will be released on June 25th, 2021.

Original story below.

A new DLC for the acclaimed title, Ghostrunner, has appeared on the Epic Games Store. As it’s called, the Metal Ox Pack showed up out of now where and is priced at $4.99. The funny thing about this DLC is that I don’t believe that this was announced before it showing up.

The Ghostrunner Metal Ox pack also doesn’t appear to be live on either the PlayStation Network or Xbox Live. It looks like this was either a mistake, or Epic Games jumped the gun. Either way, you can download it via the PC.

Like the previously released Ghostrunner: Winter Pack, the Metal Ox Pack includes new cosmetics inspired by the Chinese ‘Year of the Ox’ and Confucianism virtues. Here’s what’s included in the DLC offering:

  •  The Rite Sword and Glove Set
  •  The Benevolence Sword and Glove Set
  • The Justice Sword and Glove Set
  • The Integrity Sword and Glove Set

Sadly, there’s nothing else other than the cosmetics being offered in this DLC. I would have loved to have seen some new levels introduced, but perhaps that’s coming later down the road.

While you’re here, be sure to check out our review of Ghostrunner. Despite a few flaws, we loved the game, and sure we’ll love it as well.

Ghostrunner is currently available for the PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC (Epic Games Store). The next-gen versions for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S are also planned. However, a release date hasn’t been provided as of yet.
