Legends Of Tomorrow Season 6 Extended Trailer Teases…Disney Animation

By Todd BlackApril 27, 2021
Legends of Tomorrow

The DC Comics television universe is alive and well, and this coming Sunday marks the return of the fan-beloved Legends of Tomorrow. A show that went from “another superhero show” to THE superhero show in the eyes of many. And Season 6 is going to be amping up the insanity to the next level as the Legends are going to be fighting time-traveling aliens!

Yep, with Sara Lance abducting, Ava and the rest of the team are out to find out who took her, and along the way things get really weird. Including aliens in dance competitions, eating aliens (as burgers, naturally…) and apparently, Astra is going to become a literal Disney princess in terms of animation-style…you’ll see what we mean in the trailer below:

So how did THAT come to be?

“There are some beautiful songs and Astra, played by Olivia Swann, gets to be our version of a Disney princess,” Legends of Tomorrow co-showrunner Phil Klemmer explained to EW. “The reason we did that originally is that we broke it as live-action, and then there’s a point in the story where it becomes so outlandish that I was really having a difficult time seeing it in my head as live-action. I was like, ‘Guys, this feels like a ’90s Disney movie.’ It was sort of a joke. ‘What if we hired a bunch of Disney animators from the ’90s who have all retired and did a ’90s feature thing?'”

Yep, they’re doing that, and that’s just the tip of this madness-filled space iceberg, and that makes it all the more imperative that you go and watch Legends of Tomorrow Season 6’s premiere this Sunday on the CW!
