Everspace 2 Early Access Guide: Where to purchase additional ships

**I realize that Everspace 2 is now out, and this info is likely outdated. Sorry, if you’re here looking for guides for the recently released game, as this was for when the game was in Early Access. If this info is still valid, which I hope it is, then read on.**

When you first start Everspace 2, you’re given access to a stolen Sentinel ship. And while it’s not a bad starter ship, there are so many of them out there. You just need to look for them, which is where this guide comes in.

There are several ships to acquire, each with its own pros and cons. These ships are also pretty expensive, so unless you made some extra cash, you’ll be forced to use your existing ship as a down payment. However, before that even happens, you’ll need to progress through the story until you get to the Spares & Scrap mission that takes you to the Nephtys Plains Station. Once you’re able to land at that location, you’ll be able to purchase a new ship.

Here are the ships that are currently available in the game.

Gunship – This is the tank of ships. Incredibly slow but can take massive amounts of damage even before you upgrade the shields and hull. Can equip 3 primary weapons, 2 secondary weapons, and 2 consumables. Speed 76 / handling 112.

Interceptor – Can equip 3 primary weapons, 3 secondary weapons, and 3 consumables. Speed 86 / handling 490.

Sentinel – This is an all-around ship, has decent speed can take moderate damage. Can equip 2 primary weapons, 2 secondary weapons, and 4 consumables. Speed 91 / handling 428.

Scout – Excellent acceleration and speed, has the best handling in the game, but can’t take a hit,. Can equip 2 primary weapons, 2 secondary weapons, and 3 consumables. Speed 96 / handling 908.

Striker – Another all-around ship, that has decent speed and handling. The next step up from the Sentinel Can equip 3 primary weapons, 2 secondary weapons, and 3 consumables. Speed 91 / handling 551.

Now that you know what the ships are and what they’re all about, here’s where you can purchase them.
