Disgaea 6 : Defiance of Destiny Shows of New System Mechanics in Newest Trailer

By William "Shadowz" KokDecember 22, 2020

It is time to get back to the Netherworld in the newest entry in the Disgaea series with Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny.

Nippon Ichi released a new trailer introducing the basics of combat and showing off the game’s new mechanics. We get introduced to more of the cast, including the zombie dog Cerberus and the sister of the protagonist Zed, Bieko. The trailer shows off the basics of movement, combat, and the Dark Assembly that has been the staple in the series. We also see the continuation of Evilities and other character customization that will return to the game.

In regards to the new mechanics, Cereberus introduces Super Reincarnation. This will be the central theme of the game and how it will play into the plot for Zed and how he will face the God of Destruction. If anyone was familiar with the reincarnation from prior games, it is basically that but more. Carried over is the base stats, karma, evilities, and there is no limit to how many times you can conduct reincarnation. This is how you can reach damage output in the quadrillions.

Another interesting trivia was during the entire series; it has sold over 4.5 million copies worldwide. Also incorporated is the quality of life improvements for casual players, such as increased/instant speed in movement and auto battles. Mechanics that you would find in mobile games. So for players who find the grind daunting, it just got a whole lot easier. There is also Demonic Intelligence, in which you can customize your characters’ AI behavior in auto battles. So regardless if you are a veteran or a newbie, Disgaea 6: Defiance Of Destiny will have something to accommodate your stay in the Nether World.

Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny will be available for Nintendo Switch in Summer 2021.
