Disney+ Is Making A Darkwing Duck Reboot

By Todd BlackNovember 13, 2020
Darkwing Duck

I think we can all agree that Hollywood has gone a little cuckoo for reboots and sequel series of classic shows and movies. Sometimes, they work really well, and other times…they’re money grabs. For Disney a few years back, they decided to reboot the classic DuckTales series with incredible results.

Variety was the first to break the news of this Darkwing Duck reboot.

As part of their growing roster, they brought in another classic Disney cartoon character into the series via Darkwing Duck, with the Showrunners even dedicating an hour of the series to DD and his family in Season 3 kind of “backdoor pilot.”

Well, that has paid off! Because Variety is noting that a Darkwing Duck reboot is coming back via Disney+! And more than likely, it’ll pick up right where DuckTales left off with Darkwing, Gosalynn, and Launchpad agreeing to work together to save the city and find Gosalynn’s lost grandfather.

There isn’t any writer currently attached to the project, but the report claims that Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, and Alex AcAtee are on board to executive produce.

This is a huge win not just for Disney but for fans of DuckTales and Darkwing alike. The original was a classic, and if the reboot is as good as DuckTales has been, it’ll be even better than before.

So say it with me! Let’s. Get. Dangerous!!!!
