Halo Infinite Gets a New Teaser, Banished Enemies Confirmed

By Austin Douglas FordJune 24, 2020

Is that…. the Banished?

Howdy, all. The day of reckoning is finally upon us. Here is our very first Halo Infinite Teaser Trailer in more than a year. Enjoy, and prepare your ear holes.

This teaser accomplished a few things. One, the Banished, Halo Wars 2 main antagonists have made their way from the Ark in the aforementioned title, to the Halo Ring that we’ve seen teased in all of the Halo Infinite media thus far. We also already felt pretty good about that, as we’ve had several months of Mega Blocks toys leaking and telling us the exact same thing. It’s nice to finally get confirmation on that front.

Another thing this trailer does is try to sew doubt as to who the true leader of this enemy faction will be in Infinite. Most interestingly, it seems that Evil Cortana and her Created faction aren’t going to be the main focus, at least it doesn’t seem that way in this trailer. They very well could be working with the Banished, but that is yet to be seen. When the character narrating says “We stand together, Brother’s til the end. We are his will, we are his legacy, we are the Banished” the ‘He’ this character mentions could either be Atriox, the leader of the Banished from Halo Wars 2 and at some point between then and now he’s either died or gone MIA and the Didact from Halo 4.

This is Atriox
This is Atriox

You might be scratching your head at that if you play the Halo games, but not read the books and comics. The Didact did not die at the end of Halo 4. He was actually kinda killed off in a comic that takes place between Halos 4 and 5. Although, that comic still leaves plenty of room for him to have survived. Hopefully, we’ll learn more about this mysterious leader at the reveal event sometime in early July and in the upcoming Shadows of Reach novel that will tie into the events leading up to Halo Infinite.

Who do you think the Banished are serving? Is it their fearless and gruesome leader, Atriox? Or do you think it might in fact be the long-awaited return of the Didact? Let us know what you think in the comments below and make sure you stay tuned to The Outerhaven for all of your Halo Infinite news!

Halo Infinite is currently slated to release this fall on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC. Are you excited for Halo Infinite like we are? Let us know in the comments below and then start counting the days until the Xbox Series X first-party Livestream in July 2020.

They say everything's bigger in Texas, and Austin is no exception. Barely a 90's kid, Austin longs for the return of platformers, specifically Jak and Daxter, just don't tell him it'll never actually happen. He enjoys stand up comedy, occasionally performing in local scenes around San Antonio and Austin, and playing a myriad of different games. He also has an aggressive obsession with Superman.
