Foregone takes the best of Dead Cells and Dark Souls – PAX East 2020 Interview

By Keith MitchellMarch 4, 2020

During PAX East 2020, we stopped by the Foregone booth to get a look at this early-access indie action platformer / Metroidvania title. Taking elements from popular games such as Dark Souls and Dead Cells, Foregone features enjoyable combat, an interesting upgrade system, and a skill tree that progresses as you play the game.

To get a better understanding of the game, Blue Bubble developer, Michael Hammond was on hand to give us a rundown of the game and answer a few of our questions.

Foregone is currently available on the Epic Games Store and is priced at $24.99. This is an early-access game, so things can and will improve as development continues. While the game isn’t available for other platforms, the plan is to bring it to consoles (hopefully) later this year.

If you’re a fan of Dead Cells or Dark Souls, give this game a try. I’ve had some hands-on for about an hour during PAX East 2020 and I had to put the game down. Not because it was bad, but because it was so good. I would have played for the entirety of the event if I could have.

Be sure to check out the rest of our PAX East 2020 coverage, we still have plenty to go around.
