Anime Heroes Surpass Goal for Aussie Wildlife

By Josh PiedraMarch 4, 2020

Last month, we reported the Crunchyroll was teaming up with the anime community to raise money to help Australia’s wildlife during the crisis of the Australian fires. Through GoFundMe, Anime Heroes of Aussie Wildlife set a goal of $150,000 AUD.

Today, Crunchyroll announced that they have surpassed that goal!

Anime Heroes of Aussie Wildlife raised over $190,000 AUD (~$125,305 USD)!

344 donors from the Crunchyroll community forces with AnimeLab, Funimation, Madman Entertainment, Wakarim Aniplex, and many more to make this goal a reality. All of this was accomplished in just under 2 months! The donations will go directly to Wildlife Victoria — a not-for-profit organization, offering an emergency response service to the community to help with sick, injured, or orphaned wildlife.

Thank you to everyone who donated and helped support the cause! Crunchyroll is also incredibly thankful for the community members that donated to the wildlife in Australia. Although the fires have eased, the damage impacted 1 billion animals across over 7 million hectares. We’re hopeful that these funds will provide some relief to those impacted by the fire.
