Can this patch turn WWE 2K20 from being a heel?
Let’s be completely honest, 2K’s WWE 2K20 is a mess. A mess that wresting game fans should steer clear of. There are far too many issues going on with the game that we ultimately decided to delay our review of the game. It’s gotten to the point the PlayStation had started offering refunds for those who purchased the game digitally.
Thankfully, yesterday 2K announced the game was to receive a patch that would address many of the issues. Except there weren’t any patch notes attached, so that wasn’t helpful. But now we have those notes, thanks to our PR folks and it looks as that this patch will address many of the shortcomings with the game.
Here’s the list of what’s supposedly fixed in patch 1.02.
- Gameplay and Controls
- Graphics and Clipping
- Hair Physics
- Hit detection and aiming
- Interactions with tables, ladders, steel steps, and other objects
- Referee actions
- Onscreen button prompts
- Characters “warping” or moving unnaturally around the arena
- Crashes and Freezing
- Image downloads
- Entrances and attires
- Universe mode editing and saving
- Custom and Created Superstars and creation modes
- Commentary and sound effects
- Online Stability, matchmaking, desyncs, and lag
Along with these fixes, 2K also states that this is just the first of several patches for the game. Hopefully, these latest patch helps turn the reception of the game around. Especially since many have said this is a downgrade to last year’s WWE 2K19 and last I checked, follow-ups are supposed to surpass the previous releases.
WWE 2K20 is currently available for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
