Krypton Has Been Canceled At Syfy

By Todd BlackAugust 16, 2019
Krypton

It’s a bad day to be a hero, that was the tagline for Krypton and its second season. And just days after the show ended said season, the Hollywood Reporter notes that it’s been canceled at Syfy.

Said report notes that the show was canceled because of ratings. Mainly that they were around half of what they were in its first season, which was a surprise hit by Syfy in many ways. You could note that the series had a year-long gap between season 1 and 2, and that led to the lower ratings, but it wouldn’t matter in the long run.

What’s more, the proposed Lobo spin-off that was aiming to happen because of the character being in Season 2 has been canned as well.

However, hope is not lost Krypton fans. There is a movement going on to #SaveKrypton. And it’s been reported that Warner Bros Media has been shopping around both Krypton and Lobo to other channels. Which includes DC Universe, the streaming service of Warner Bros in regards to DC Comics properties. There’s even rumblings that it could go to HBO Max when that arrives.

This is not a confirmed thing, but there is hope. And hope is what drives the House of El. So hopefully it’ll drive it to a third season.
