Geena Davis Joins Cast of Netflix’s ‘GLOW’

By Sara Roncero-MenendezJune 10, 2019

Ah, Geena Davis. Kickass actress, Olympic level archer, all around icon who you constantly wonder what she’s doing now. Well, today is the day at question gets answered: she’s working on the upcoming season of GLOW.

Yes, Davis will be joining Netflix’s show which fictionalizes the origins of Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. At the end of season 2, the girls were headed off to do shows in Las Vegas after their show was cancelled. Davis plays Sandy Devereaux St. Clair, the former showgirl turned entertainment director of the Fan-Tan Hotel and Casino, where GLOW will doing their performances. Whether she will be friend, foe, or both is still up in the air.

Don’t think these ladies are going to have it easy in Sin City – the show will put all the wrestlers to the test. “We didn’t think Vegas was a purely optimistic place. It’s a place that, at least for us, makes our hair go up on our arms as in, ‘Oh no, what’s going to happen there?'” showrunner Carly Mensch told The Hollywood Reporter.

Here’s one of the first images of Davis’ character:

GLOW Season 3 will premiere on Netflix on August 9, 2019.

A reporter by trade, Sara is a lover of horror, sci-fi, and all things pop culture. From indies to classics to even the strangest schlock, all movies and TV shows are fair game. She believes Batman is the most fascinating superhero, and that Silent Hill is one of the best horror franchises ever made (as long as you don't count the movies). Fun Fact: The only movie Sara will not rewatch is The Room -- once was more than enough.
