Crunchyroll Games Announces New RWBY Game

By Josh PiedraJune 25, 2019

Crunchyroll has announced a brand-new game based off of Rooster Teeth’s RWBY series! The game is called RWBY: Crystal Quest and it will be a puzzle fighter game that is slated to launch this summer!

Crunchyroll has partnered with EGLS Technology to create the puzzle fighter which uses the match three jewel puzzle formula. The game will be available for everyone on mobile devices for the low price of free! The game will feature chibi versions of popular characters Rube, Weiss, Blake, and Yang.

“The Crunchyroll community already loves ‘RWBY’ for its charming cast of characters and its engaging action scenes,” said Brady McCollum, head of global operations and international, Crunchyroll. “In ‘RWBY Crystal Quest,’ fans can expect much of the same, with fan-favorite characters, similar pacing, and attacks coming to life through a fast-paced, match-three format.”

“In ‘RWBY: Crystal Quest,’ fans can play as one of their favorite ‘RWBY’ characters by leading them through a series of puzzle battles,” said Kerry Shawcross, writer and director of “RWBY” at Rooster Teeth. “We’re so excited to bring ‘RWBY Chibi’ to life with our friends at Crunchyroll Games and we can’t wait to share more with you soon.”

While the game isn’t available until this summer, fans are invited to pre-register for the game which you can do so here: http://www.crunchyroll.com/games/rwbycrystalquest/index.html

RWBY Chibi, a series of shorts based on the RWBY franchise, is currently streaming on VRV as well as Rooster Teeth.

Crunchyroll adds RWBY to their catalog of games based on anime titles such as Bungou Stray Dogs: Tales of the Lost and Grand Summoners. Crunchyroll is also the marketing partner for Attack on Titan: TACTICS which is slated to release this fall.
