With two weeks to go before the debut of the Carmen Sandiego Netflix animated cartoon, the latest trailer takes the opportunity to ask a new, yet important question: “WHO in the world is Carmen Sandiego?” Also, try to tell me you didn’t just say that in song.
The trailer gives us a look into Carmen’s (Gina Rodriguez, Jane the Virgin) past and what led her to the life that she’s leading as the infamous international thief that we’re all familiar with today through the old PBS game show and 1990s animated series. From her early days as a student at a school for thieves to her decision to become the kind of thief that she is today, the animated series looks to take the opportunity to further humanize Carmen.
Carmen Sandiego debuts on Netflix on January 18, 2019.
