With a bit of work that is
Listening to the needs of all gamers, Microsoft released their Xbox Adaptive Controller, which benefits gamers with disabilities. Definitely a fantastic product and one that helps fill the void of peripherals created to assist disabled gamers.
However, since it was released, I’ve seen a familiar question pop up over and over. That being can you use this on other platformers like the PlayStation, PC or even the Nintendo Switch. Now, while I’m not sure on the first two platforms. We have seen that with a bit of ingenuity, you can use the Adaptive Controller on the Nintendo Switch. As shown by YouTube user “My Mate Vince“, it is quite possible to get this working with a bit of work.
He goes through explaining how he managed to pull off this feat and what’s required to do so. There’s quite a bit going on here, but it does show the controller in action by playing Mario Kart 8 on the Switch. So you can recreate this feat on your own – just keep in mind that none of this is supported by either Microsoft or Nintendo. But it really does need to be, so all gamers can get into the action.
And if you happen to want to know if this will work on the PS4, you’re in luck. He states he’s going to give that a try next.
Check the video out below, it’s definitely worth a watch. While you’re there, check out his other videos, they’re pretty interesting.
