The Outerhaven YouTube Roundup August 5, 2018

We here at the Outerhaven want you to know us not only for our passions surrounding gaming, tech, television, movies, anime, manga, etc. Every week we’re going to deliver to you a list of videos we have been checking out while cyberloafing the internet. It gives you a chance to see another side to us, one that isn’t focused on covering the latest news or reviews. While this list will be largely safe for work, we must warn against things that may incite any phobias that you may have. Enjoy!

James’s Pick:

If you’re an Overwatch League fan you’ve already seen this play, but have you seen it with the LA Gladiators comms? This is a great behind-the-scenes look at the greatest play in Competitive Overwatch history.

Todd’s Pick:

In one of the coolest Death Battle’s ever made, Samurai Jack goes up against Afro Samurai. The battle was hand-drawn, and that makes it all the cooler.

So, who has to “WATCH OUT!” for their death? Check out the video and find out!

Sara’s Pick:

This new series from PBS is the best new thing, and since I already love Lindsay Ellis so this was always going to make it on the list. Science Fiction is a very widespread genre and, frankly, has a lot of interesting facets that you might not be familiar with. As someone who just picked up some of Octavia Butler’s work, this refresher on the genre is most welcome.

Josh’s Pick:

One of my favorite anime music videos was one that depicted the series Durarara!! set to the song “Witchcraft” by Pendulum. While the video itself was pretty awesome, I ended up falling in love with the song. Enter Cole Roland… a YouTuber that does amazing guitar covers. Three guesses as to what song he covered in his latest video!

He did an amazing job with the cover and I wanted to share it all with you. He plays the guitar over the song so you can hear both him playing and the actual song. Go forth… enjoy!

That’s all for week’s roundup. Tune back in to see what we are sharing next!
