Ryan Reynolds Will Produce and Star in ‘CLUE’ Adaptation

By Sara Roncero-MenendezJanuary 27, 2018

Ryan Reynolds has been on a roll. The Deadpool movie was a major success, he’s managed to escape his Green Lantern days, and he’s even going to star in the new Detective Pikachu movie. But his next big project might be cause for even more excitement: a new adaptation of the board game CLUE.

Yes, we are back to those boardgames adaptation movies. But have no fear — Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the writers from the first Deadpool movie, are being recruited to team up again to write this film as well. As we’ve seen, the trio make for an excellent film, so hopefully their reunion is coming. No word yet on a director for the project.

This film will not be a re-make of the classic 1985 film of the same name, but rather a new endeavor. The premise, however, will probably be the same — guests are invited to a mansion under mysterious circumstances only for a grisly murder to happen and everyone becomes a suspect. Still, the exact specifications of the plot are still up in the air. I’m not sure anyone would mind, however, if this movie also have the various endings like the other one. May Tim Curry make a cameo, just for old time’s sake.

A reporter by trade, Sara is a lover of horror, sci-fi, and all things pop culture. From indies to classics to even the strangest schlock, all movies and TV shows are fair game. She believes Batman is the most fascinating superhero, and that Silent Hill is one of the best horror franchises ever made (as long as you don't count the movies). Fun Fact: The only movie Sara will not rewatch is The Room -- once was more than enough.
