Weekly Outerhaven YouTube Roundup November 12, 2017

By LizLizNovember 13, 2017

We here at the Outerhaven want you to know us not only for our passions surrounding gaming, tech, television, movies, anime, manga, etc. Every week we’re going to deliver to you a list of videos we have been checking out while cyberloafing the internet. It gives you a chance to see another side to us, one that isn’t focused on covering the latest news or reviews. While this list will be largely safe for work, we must warn against things that may incite any phobias that you may have. Enjoy!

Sara’s Pick:

Sometimes on this site, I feel like I’m the only person who doesn’t really play video games. Still, if there’s one thing I love it’s weird critical theories on mass media. I have never played Dark Souls, and have 0 intention of ever doing so, but I love MatPat’s theory on who the characters are and how he explains the world of the game. I think I’ve watched it so many times, I scream “PRAISE THE SUN” in time with the intro. I may have a problem…

Veronica’s Pick:

I give it ten Goldblums out of a possible ten Goldblums.

Todd’s Pick:

It’s an anime fanboy war decades in the making! Death Battle has put Naruto vs. Ichigo, and only one can be the victor!

Get ready, and prepare for salt!

Keith’s Pick:

I fell in love with the Dead Space series. The sci-fi setting, the action and the horror that made me jump out of my seat at times. Easily of the best action/survival horror games of all time, now left to rot on EA’s “now dead” floor. This video is about those who helped make the Dead Space games and I feel that everyone who loved the series, owes it to themselves to find out how it all came to be. From start to finish and how the developers felt about the now dead series.

Karl’s Pick:

GoFundMe Campaign: Bringing Back Tide’s Smile – https://www.gofundme.com/bringing-back-tides-smile
Sometimes YouTube stops being funny and takes a moment to change a life. This week’s video is about Tide, a young pup that was saved from a brutal home where he has a lot of issues that need fixing. His new owner Danielle has dropped almost all her savings into helping Tide but it hasn’t been enough. So watch the video about Tide’s story and donate to the Go Fund Me page please.

Josh’s Pick:

This week, I’m selecting the World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth cinematic trailer. The core of Warcraft (both the RTS series and the MMORPG) has always been Horde vs The Alliance. It is the very roots which give the franchise its identity. While that is not the overall plot for the next expansion, that is how things are kicking off and to accentuate that, we are treated to this magnificent cinematic! Blizzard captures every expression, every emotion perfectly which gets you extremely hyped for what’s to come!

Clinton’s Pick:

When you think about the Fantastic Four, one of many thoughts come into your head. For one, thank the universe that Michael B. Jordan’s career wasn’t obliterated by the most recent movie. But in all seriousness, the Fantastic Four cartoons were the best of the bunch, and while the 1967 cartoon still holds a special place in my heart, despite me turning 30 in a few days, The 1994 Fantastic Four series during the Marvel Action Hour was definitely the show that got me excited. It was corny, but the intro was one of my favorite reasons to watch the show and still is to this day.

REED RICHARDS IS ELASTIC
SUE CAN FADE FROM SIGHT
JOHNNY IS THE HUMAN TORCH
THE THING JUST LOVES TO FIGHT…CALL FOR FOUR! FANTASTIC FOUR!

Liz’s Pick:

That spinning ushiro geri is beautiful… just beautiful. I want to do that. That is seriously one of my goals.

That’s all for week’s roundup. Tune back in next week to see what we are sharing next!
