Nintendo Switch Sales Now At 7.63 Million Worldwide

By Todd BlackOctober 30, 2017
Nintendo Switch

The Nintendo Switch has been a hit since the word “go”, selling out everywhere in little to no time flat. Yet, because of these sellouts, it’s been hard to gauge just how well the Switch has been doing sales number wise. Well, Nintendo is here to settle the score so to speak.

Nintendo has released a financial report showing that the Nintendo Switch has sold 7.63 million units worldwide so far. Now, to be clear, these sales only go until September 30th, which means that there’s another of sales that are currently unaccounted for. Which means that the Switch is likely much closer to 8 million, if not over it by now.

The Switch was assisted in its sales thanks to games like Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Which Nintendo revealed has sold 4.7 million units so far. Much like the Switch itself, these numbers are sure to go up, especially since many consider it the “go-to” game for the Switch. Although, with the release of Super Mario Odyssey, it will have competition for that title.

Regardless though, the Nintendo Switch is killing it, and no doubt that’s why Nintendo is saying by March 2018 they’ll hit 14 million. So essentially double what they have now. Now, that’s not unreasonable because there are two holidays coming up, and if Nintendo can stock stores, they’ll have a major holiday sales surge on their hands.

For our thoughts on everything Nintendo, be sure to check out the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast! Our next episode (which will release on Friday) will dive into the sales figures for the Switch, its games, and more!
