Netflix Releases “Black Mirror” Season 4 Episode Titles

By Sara Roncero-MenendezAugust 25, 2017

Black Mirror is a show that has survived solely on the basis that you never know exactly what you’re going to get, except that it’s nothing you’ll see coming. This time around, however, it looks like we’re getting a little preview, Netflix has just released a video with the titles of all six episodes, including some teaser scenes for each.

So let’s break different series of images down:

“Crocodile”

Cast: Andrea Riseborough, Andrew Gower, Kiran Sonia Sawar
Director: John Hillcoat
What we see: The icy wilderness, and some people looking worried/paranoid, someone on a screen.

“Arkangel”

Cast: Rosemarie Dewitt, Brenna Harding, Owen Teague
Director: Jodie Foster
What we see: A young blond white girl getting some sort of futuristic medical treatment, a tablet, a woman (the mother) crying/laughing in a closet holding the tablet, the same woman grabbing a pencil angrily from the blonde girl, who has blood on her face.

“Hang the DJ”

Cast: Georgina Campbell, Joe Cole, George Blagden
Director: Tim Van Patten
What we see: A couple in a restaurant with futuristic white handhelds, which they press in glee, scene with them in bed, then getting passionately intimate.

“USS Callister”

Cast: Jesse Plemons, Cristin Milioti, Jimmi Simpson, Michaela Coel
Director: Toby Haynes
What we see: A Star Trek satire, we see a crew member with glowing orange hands, the captain in his chair, and the ship careening through space.

“Metalhead”

Cast: Maxine Peake, Jake Davies, Clint Dyer
Director: David Slade
What we see: A woman screaming, one of those robot dogs, the same woman running panicked out of the building, and two cars crashing into each other.

“Black Museum”

Cast: Douglas Hodge, Letitia Wright, Babs Olusanmokun
Director: Colm McCarthy
What we see: A young woman near a gas station in an arid area, a building with a sign saying “Black Museum”, a white man with a bowtie, an old man being transported by emergency medical services, someone step on a plug followed by someone being startled awake, and then two looking at one another, one with a special brain hat.

As I said, you never know what you’re going to get with Black Mirror so any speculation is likely going to be wrong. Still, these images give us a strong hint about what might be really happening, and it sure looks creepy.

Black Mirror Season 4 will come out sometime later this year.

A reporter by trade, Sara is a lover of horror, sci-fi, and all things pop culture. From indies to classics to even the strangest schlock, all movies and TV shows are fair game. She believes Batman is the most fascinating superhero, and that Silent Hill is one of the best horror franchises ever made (as long as you don't count the movies). Fun Fact: The only movie Sara will not rewatch is The Room -- once was more than enough.
