Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition Running At 4K And 60 FPS

By Keith MitchellAugust 31, 2017
Final Fantasy 15 Windows Edition

Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy XV was heading to the PC as Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition. With that came word of higher textures, ShadowWorks, Hairworks, and more supported resolutions, including glorious 4K. Yep, this games supports 4K and at 60FPS.

However, while we heard about the good stuff,  we only got to see a little bit of it in action. Now Nvidia has put out another short video, showcasing the game at 4K@60fs. I really wish they provided the specs for the PC that ran this game as well.

You can check out that video below.

Now, if you’re expecting to run the title at 4K@60fps with everything maxed out, that may be an issue. Square Enix and Nvidia have mentioned that no single video card will be able to pull this off. That means neither the GTX 1080 or GTX 1080Ti will be able to do so. If you’re running SLI, then it might be possible but we just won’t know until we get some confirmation or benchmarks.

Or perhaps we’ll have to wait and see how Volta, Nvidia’s next GPU lineup does with 4K gaming. Expect to see Volta sometime around Q1/Q2 2018. Hmm, Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition releases around that time as well. Perhaps we’ll see a bundle of sorts.
