Call Of Duty Set To Return To World War 2

By Keith MitchellApril 21, 2017

While the last few Call of Duty games had modern and futurist tones, it looks the series will be headed back to its roots. Announced by Activision, the upcoming Call of Duty title, Call of Duty WWII, will be featured during World War II.  Back to where the series originally started back during 2003.

The previous entries Call of Duty  1 -3, and Call of Duty World at War were all featured during World War 2. Those were also some of my favorite entries of the series, so it will be interesting to see what Activision and Sledgehammer games has in store.

Update: Call of Duty WWII will be released sometime in November 2017.

A live stream take will place on April 26th, 2017, @ 10 AM PDT. During this event, we’ll hear more about the game, what systems is will be on and more. And to get the fans hyped, Activision has set up a brief history piece over on their blog. This talks about the history of the first Call of Duty games, and segway to Call of Duty WWII.

That said, I really hope that there’s a fleshed out single-play campaign in the game. Multi-player is fun and all, but single-player experiences are really engaging when done properly that is.
