Oxygen Not included Alpha build is now available

By Luis RinconFebruary 27, 2017

Oxygen not included is the latest entry by klei entertainment, the studio responsible for don’t starve and mark of the ninja. The game sets you in charge of a group of colonist in the deeps of an asteroid facing all kinds of hardships. Managing the colony day-to-day activities will be the key to success.

The little fellows (called duplicants) need to work, build, and dig for food, energy and of course that precious oxygen.

Price of the alpha

Customers can buy  Oxygen Not Included, right now at a price of  $19.99 USD, However, the price may be higher in the future as announced by Klei. The game is also only available for windows at the moment. Klei Entertainment also claims than even if the game is in an alpha state they feel confident that the content is enough to justify a purchase. More importantly, they say is active feedback from players what they search with the release of the alpha build.

What are the plans for the future?

Direct from Klei Entertainment forums this are at the moment their plans for the future in relation to the game:

Roadmap

  • More things that are sensitive to the effects of temperature
  • More tools to deal with temperature
  • Improved base sustainability
  • More ways to create sustainable systems for resources such as water, fertilizer, dirt etc.
  • Improved stress gameplay
  • More stress responses and behaviours for strung out Duplicants
  • More ways to reduce and prevent stress
  • New biomes and creatures
  • Buried Artifacts
  • Mysterious objects hidden in the world that may help or harm you

This list could change entirely once we see people playing the game. We could decide some of these things are no longer needed or that new things are more important, so please be aware that the list above is not set in stone.

The game will receive periodic updates introducing more content. We do not have an expected content schedule at this time, but we expect the frequency to be about once every 4-6 weeks. Due to the systematic nature of the game, it is important that updates are substantial and reasonably balanced before entering the game.
