Marin from Link’s Awakening to Arrive for Hyrule Warriors

By Aaron SandersMarch 27, 2016

Shortly after we were bombarded with news about the newly released Hyrule Warriors Legends for 3DS, we can now look forward to another new playable DLC character. Just last night, the official Twitter page for Nintendo of America announced a new character for Hyrule Warriors on 3DS and Wii U.

Marin from The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening will be joining the fray in Hyrule Warriors.

In 1993, players first saw Marin in The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening on the Game Boy. Marin first encountered Link during his travels after a devastating shipwreck left him unconscious on Koholint Island’s shores. Despite playing a major role in the plot, Marin was never a fighter. Instead, she assisted Link through the power of song. Nearly a decade later in Super Smash Bros. Melee, Marin reappeared as a collectible trophy. The statue’s description explains that she is “a talented harpist” even though Link was the character to use a harp in Awakening. This leads us to believe that her weapon of choice for Hyrule Warriors could be a mix of vocals and strings.

Marin will be available this summer with the purchase of the Link’s Awakening DLC or the Legend of Hyrule season pass pack. Currently, you can purchase the Link’s Awakening pack in-game for $4.99 on the Wii U, $6.99 for the 3DS, or $9.99 for both systems. The Legend of Hyrule season pass pack will be available for $9.99 on the Wii U, $14.99 for the 3DS, or $19.99 for both systems.

More information will be announced later when we are closer to the release date of the Link’s Awakening DLC pack.
