Arslan Senki’s Second Season to Air in July

By Josh PiedraMarch 27, 2016

It was announced via its official website that Hiromu Arakawa’s Arslan Senki (The Heroic Legend of Arslan) will be receiving a second anime season starting in July of 2016. The official title is Arslan Senki: Fuujin Ranbu (The Heroic Legend of Arslan: Dust Storm Dance). The series will air in Japan on Sunday in the 5pm time slot on MBS and TBS. The staff and cast from the first season will be returning in full to reprise all of their roles in the second season.

Eir Aoi, who has lent her music to series such as Sword Art Online and Fate/Zero, will be performing the opening theme while Kalafina, who is known for theme songs in Fate/Zero and Puella Magi Madoka Magica, will return to provide the ending theme. Kalafina provided the second ending to Arslan Senki during the first season.

Hiromu Arakawa launched The Heroic Legend of Arslan manga in Bessatsu Shounen Magazine in 2013, which is an adaptation of the light novel series by Yoshiki Tanaka. The series is licensed for publication by Kodansha Comics.  Arakawa is also the manga author responsible for the major hit series Fullmetal Alchemist and the well-received and award-winning slice-of-life series, Gin no Saji (Silver Spoon.)
