The Witness Finally has a Release Date

By Mark SullivanSeptember 17, 2015

Jonathan Blow has finally revealed the release date for his next game, The Witness.

In a blog post on the Playstation Blog, Blow showed a new trailer and shared some development statistics and details. He claims that what started as a game that would last maybe 8 to 12 hours has become 10 times bigger, and completionists may spend somewhere around 80 or 100 hours to see everything through.

The Witness was originally intended to be a launch window title of the Playstation 4, but was obviously delayed indefinitely. You can view the new release date trailer below.

The Witness will finally release on January 26, 2016.

Mark is a student in Philadelphia currently working towards a B.S. in Information Science & Technology. Starting in 1998 with a hand-me-down PS1 and the demo for Spyro The Dragon (which he played COUNTLESS times), his love of gaming soon elevated when he borrowed Final Fantasy VII from a friend for the first time. Now he's an avid collector, a semi-expert trophy hunter, and an overall lover of video games. Favorite games are Final Fantasy VII (I know, deal with it), Metal Gear Solid 2, Resident Evil 4, Dark Souls, and Psychonauts, to name a few.
