World Trigger Gets Spinoff Anime in October

By Josh PiedraJuly 22, 2015

It was announced on Wednesday at the World Trigger Natsu Matsuri that the popular anime will be receiving a spinoff starting this October. The anime has a tentative title of World Trigger: Isekai Kara no Toubousha (World Trigger: Fugitives From Another World). The new series will cover an original story that is not a part of Daisuke Ashihara’s manga. Even the voice actors that were at the festival know little to no details about this new project.

The manga has spawned an anime adaptation that is currently airing in Japan and is scheduled to finish at the end of the summer with a total of 50 episodes. The manga debuted in the 11th issue of Weekly Shounen JUMP in 2013 and has currently printed five volumes.  The franchise also has a video game for PS Vita titled World Trigger: Borderless Mission. The game is set to be released later this year.
