Disgaea 5: Release Date Announced

By Jason KwasnickiJune 25, 2015

According to IGN, the release date for the next entry in the Disgaea series is set for October 6 in North America and October 9 in Europe. NIS America followed up with a Tweet implying that this is legitimate information.

For those unfamiliar with this diamond in the tactical RPG rough, the Disgaea franchise tasks you with taking up the role of a demon Overlord, recruiting soldiers from dozens of races/classes and engaging in over the top grid based battles where the average attack deals 99,999,999 damage (slight hyperbole, but rest assured there will be lots of numbers). After all, NIS America has promised that “Disgaea 5’s damage numbers are surely headed for the record books.”

New to Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance are the Alliance and Revenge systems. The former allows relationships between main characters to influence combat via tag-team combos, the latter will cause your party members to strike after their friends have suffered severe blows.

Of course, as always, it’s all topped off by Prinny’s d00d:

If you don’t believe what I said about numbers, check out this E3 trailer, particularly at the 1:09 mark.

Born and raised in the New York area, currently kicking it in Queens, and keeping an ear to the grindstone in this crazy world of internet media hustling. Having attended the George Washington University with a Degree in History, I'm sometimes inclined to use big words unnecessarily. While I typically play a lot of RPGs, I tend to like any game that is fun. My PSN ID is NY-Miller, so hit me up if you ever want to kill some Wizards on the Moon in Destiny.
