New Need For Speed trailer making the rounds, reboot of the series

By Keith MitchellMay 21, 2015

For the past few days there’s been a lot of speculation of what the next Need For Speed from EA would be like. Many, including myself assumed that it would be in the vein of the Need For Speed Underground series, which was one of the more enjoyable titles for Need For Speed. Yesterday however, EA stated that a teaser trailer would be released today with more information to come during E3 2015.

Well the trailer is here and clocking at just over 30 seconds, we’re introduced to some loud music, accompanied with several cars; Mustang GTR Spec 5, Porsche, RX7 and a few others I couldn’t make out, being chased by the police, through a city at night.

The title is being developed by EA’s Ghost and will be a reboot of the Need For Speed series. The title will be making it’s way to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, so no past generation here (PS3/Xbox360).

With over 20 years of history in its rear view mirror, Need for Speed returns with a reboot that delivers on what Need for Speed stands for – rich customization, authentic urban car culture, a nocturnal open world, and an immersive narrative that drives your NFS game.

Fueled by our very own car culture community, Speedhunters has helped deliver a NFS experience that is grounded in authentic car culture by diving into the world of past, present and emergent trends of the urban car scene, NFS will unleash the passion for cars and speed when it releases this Fall, 2015. Check back on June 15 for the full reveal, including a first look at customization and first full length trailer!

Guess we’ll have to wait for E3 2015 for more info!
