The Playstation 4 won't launch in Japan until 2014.

Sony has announced that the Land of the Rising Sun won’t be able to get their hands on the Playstation 4 until 2014 and well that’s a shocker, especially since the PS4 is a Japanese console. Instead the PS4 will launch in the NA/EU countries this holiday season, while our fellow gamers in Japan will only be able to salivate over what they are missing out on or import a NA/EU console since the system is “region free”.

Still that’s a first, rushing to get their system released in 2 of the major markets and one that isn’t Japan…. or is Japan even considered a major market since it’s ongoing decline. Or perhaps it’s a lack of gaming titles catered towards the gaming audience in Japan. Either way, Sony isn’t stating what caused the delay but one has to wonder.
