Funimation Responds Regarding Verizon's Attempts To Remove Them

By Keith MitchellFebruary 21, 2012

Recently we reported that Verizon had planned to take the Funimation channel off of their Fios line-up come March 12th, 2012. However there was no official stance by Funimation, which we assumed this was due to Funimation actually not aware of Verizon’s plans. Well it seems that they know what’s going on now and are in talks with Verizon to see what can be done to keep them on Fios.

Head on over to http://www.funimation.com/rojas/blog/tell-verizon-you-want-to-keep-funimation-channel/2368961 and help with the cause. Funimation has setup an online petition which I recommend to anyone who wants to help keep Funimation on Fios – http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/savefunimation.

A bit of interesting news however on our front. I actually contacted Verizon several times regarding this and even spoke to a manager. From what I was told it seems to be a negotiation issue and they informed me that Verizon didn’t official drop the channel or wanted to. Now it could be smoke and mirrors or it could be the truth, who knows. But I’m we’re saying is voice your opinion to Verizon about their decision and sign the petition.
