Dragon Ball Daima Will Be A Completely Original Story

By Todd BlackJanuary 7, 2024
Dragon Ball Daima

2024 will be an interesting year for entertainment as a whole, and that goes double for the anime industry. There will be all sorts of series coming out this year, including series we didn’t expect, such as Dragon Ball Daima. This project was announced to the shock of fans at New York Comic Con, and will be a “bridge” between Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super. The animation looks crisp, and the voice actors we know are coming back, so it should be good.

But there are many questions still surrounding the series, including how “original” it’s going to be considering it’s “yet another kid Goku adventure” after a certain transformation. Well, Dragon Ball Executive Producer Akio Iyoku spoke with Nikkei about this and said the following:

“With Dragon Ball Daima, which will be released in Fall 2024, we are taking on the challenge of creating an anime series with a completely original story.”

So that means fans won’t have an insight into what happens because there wasn’t any manga to come before it. That’s not the first time that’s happened, such as when Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero came out. The movie was released first, and then the manga adapted it into the canon.
