Xbox Unveils the Nostalgic Sky Cipher Special Edition Controller

Sky Cipher Special Edition Xbox controller-03

Just mere days after PlayStation had the gaming world’s eyes on its upcoming Astro Bot DualSense controller, Xbox has tossed yet another custom Xbox Series controller into the fray. This latest release, dubbed the “Sky Cipher Special Edition,” has us drooling over its sleek, futuristic design. It reminds me of those old translucent water guns my brother and I used to torment our dog with—ah, good days.

Inspired by the mysteries within the Xbox Wireless Controller, the Sky Cipher Special Edition features a transparent design that offers a glimpse into the intricate technology powering your gaming experience. With its translucent blue exterior, metallic accents, and silver interior components, this controller exudes sophistication and futuristic allure. It’s a perfect blend of form and function, designed to enhance your gaming setup.. and if not yours, it will be for my setup.

Available for pre-order at the Microsoft Store for $69.99, the Sky Cipher Special Edition Xbox controller will also hit shelves at local retailers like Amazon, GameStop, and Best Buy. However, at the time of this article, neither of those stores have posted the controller up for sale yet.

Now, I don’t want to sound ungrateful for another cool-looking gaming accessory gracing the market, but come on, Xbox, give us a break! Or at least give me one. My shelves are already full of Xbox controllers, and with more releases, you’re testing my willpower, bank account, and shelving capacity.

Yes, damn it. I’m getting one.
