Mortal Kombat 1 Takeda Takahashi Gameplay Teased By Ed Boon

By Kevin KellyJuly 1, 2024

Mortal Kombat 1’s own Ed Boon has teased Takeda Takahashi’s return in a tweet, last week. Takeda’s return since Mortal Kombat X has been foretold since last year from the Kombat Pack 1 reveal. He’s coming after The Boys’ Homelander, later this month, but the preview itself can help with figuring out how he works.

Takeda marks the last (Kombat Pack 1) fighter, and Ferra the final (KP1) Kameo in #MortalKombat1

So far…

Here's a quick taste of what to expect with Takeda.

We look forward to supporting #MK1 far beyond this… and would love to get some feedback from the community…. pic.twitter.com/hVUv24vPBa

As stated by Boon, Takeda will be the final member to join through the Kombat Pack 1. Takeda’s early access will happen on July 23rd with Ferra in tow as the Kameo fighter.

Takeda is the son of another Mortal Combat combat character, Kenshin Takahashi, and once his father disappeared, eventually became the apprentice of Scorpion. Takeda made an appearance in Mortal Kombat X, but was reduced to a cameo character in Mortal Combat 11. Specifically in Shao Kahn’s ending, where he is eventually killed off.

Mortal Kombat 1 is available on PlayStation 5, XBox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Steam(PC).
