Multiversus – The Joker Gameplay Trailer Released

By Kevin KellyMay 20, 2024

The Joker has a new gameplay trailer for his Multiversus debut, as Player First and Warner Bros promised last week. It’s as many expected from the foil of the Caped Crusader. The start of the trailer, however, was probably not what I expected.

The Batcave is usually the most sacred place of the caped crusader. While Wayne Manor serves as an open base of operations for Team Batman, the Batcave is probably one of the safest spots in Gotham City. But not everything is meant to be safe forever. The Joker jacked in, distorting Batman’s vocal logs, taking his gathered intel on other combatants, and causing his typical havoc.

The Joker has a few looks to sport. From his Batman: TAS to his He Who Laughs spiked duds, he’s got a bit more style to him. His kit is seen here working well with Harley Quin’s. His pogo downward smash is laughable but deadly. He does this to Iron Giant a couple of times to secure a win. Joker does get to duke it out with the Great Detective himself in the trailer, but we only briefly get to see the fight. It’ll not be the first time we see them, in a fighting game, at near equal footing. His Blastoff attack was used at close range, so it’s hard to gauge how far the target needs to be for it to work effectively. Crowbarred was shown in several parts of the trailer. Dirty Dealer is the hardest to spot.

How To Gear Up For The Joker – Comic Edition

The trailer also points to reading homework made up of his best comic books to check out. With a week until Multiversus is back, there’s plenty of time to check them out. However, I’d probably stick to Justice League, Batman: TAS, and The Killing Joke.

Multiversus will be available on May 28th on PlayStation 4 | 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, and Steam.
