Hardcore mode drops tomorrow for Remnant from the Ashes

By Keith MitchellOctober 30, 2019
Remant from the Ashes

One of my favorite games of 2019 is getting more content this month. That game being Remnant: From the Ashes, an action-RPG that’s very similar to the Soulsborne games, with an emphasize on gunplay instead of melee combat. Today,  Gunfire Games has announced that the next piece of DLC is a hardcore mode. Oh, and it drops tomorrow on October 31st, 2019.

Now, you’re probably thinking that you’ve played a bunch of games with a hardcore mode. Why should this be any different? To that, I say that the name of this new mode is misleading. It’s not a hardcode mode and is pretty much a perma-death mode. Do I have your attention now?

Remnant from the Ashes PC review – 4/5

In this hardcode mode, when you die you stay dead. There are no second chances, so you need to be on your toes. That’s not all, either. To up the chances of you dying a horrific death, hardcore characters can only play online with other hardcore players. Meaning you won’t be able to stay under the radar by playing with non-hardcore characters. Of course, playing in a harder mode also means there’s greater loot. Loot that’s only accessible in this new hardcore mode, but will be available to all of your characters if you manage to snag any of it.

So if you’ve been through everything in the game and you have been asking for that extra challenge. Well, here it is as Gunfire Games has delivered (or will have by tomorrow). I expect to see some very salty people on Twitter, as well as on multiple streams as people watch their hardcore adventures cut short.

Remnant: From the Ashes is currently available on PS4, Xbox, PC Steam and ARC.
