Captain American and Morrigan Added to Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite Roster

By Keith MitchellDecember 5, 2016

Shown during the ESPN2 re-broadcast of the 2016 Capcom Cup, both Captain American and Morrigan (Darkstalkers) were confirmed to join the cast of Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite. Fans of the Marvel Versus series will recognize both as mainstays of the series and were fairly popular among the community.

Both were shown exhibiting the same move set during an extended gameplay trailer, with Cap showing off this Hyper Charging Star, while Morrigan unleashed her Darkness Illusion Hyper Combo. While it was heavily speculated that both characters would make their return, it’s nice to see that this was confirmed. No word on when we’ll see more character announcements, but we’ll definitely keep on top of those.

Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite is Capcom’s upcoming Versus title that pits Capcom characters against those found in the Marvel universe. Unlike the last two entries, MvCI will take the game back to a 2 vs 2 battle, with no assists (sorry hidden missile fans) and will use the infinity gems similar to how they were in Capcom’s Marvel Superheroes title.

Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite is set to be released sometime in 2017 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. No word if the game could possibly see an arcade release as well.
