Attack on Titan Season 2 Finally Gets Release Date

By Josh PiedraDecember 7, 2016
Attack on Titan

It’s no secret that Hajime Isayama’s popular Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin) is getting a second anime season, but it had been delayed time and time again…. until now.  The second season of the anime will air in the 2017 Spring Anime Season, meaning that it will begin airing in April of next year. This information was confirmed in a wrap around jacket found on the 21st tankoban of the Attack on Titan manga. The second season, which was initially announced in November 2014, was originally planned for 2016.

The first 25-episode season aired in 2013 and featured content up until the conclusion of the Female Titan arc.  Crunchyroll and FUNimation aired the series as it aired in Japan and FUNimation currently holds the North American distribution licensing rights.  Currently, the anime is available from them as a 2-set volume in both standard and collector’s editions.

Hajime Isayama‘s original manga has also inspired numerous spinoff manga, several novel series, a two-part live-action film project, a spinoff live-action television series, and an OVA. Two of the spinoff manga. Attack on Titan: No Regrets and Attack on Titan: Junior High both received anime adaptations of their own. The series has also had several animated films recapping the first season as well as several live-action adaptations.
