Super Mario Run has been a hot topic, in the good way, since Nintendo unveiled it at the Apple Event a while back. Now, we’re getting some interesting details on just how the game was made.

In a post on the Unity Twitter handle, Unity itself revealed that Super Mario Run is made using their engine:

“We are thrilled that the legendary creators @NintendoAmerica are bringing Mario to mobile for the first time, and it’s #madewithunity”

You may be wondering why this is significant. Well, this is now the second mobile title from Nintendo to use Unity, the first was Pokemon GO.

Could this be a trend that’ll continue as more Nintendo mobile titles are made? Time will tell. In the meantime, let us know if YOU are excited for Super Mario Run.
