Square-Enix made the announcement that partner developer Silicon Studio will be creating Bravely Default: Fairy’s Effect for iOS and Android devices.  A closed beta test is schedule to begin soon on the Android platform in which they look to enroll the help of 5,000 players to test the game. Square-Enix has asked anyone who is interested in the beta test to follow them on their Twitter account as information about the beta will be released there.

Square-Enix is aiming to release Bravely Default: Fairy’s Effect sometime in 2017, but a specific time frame has not yet been announced for the title.

Square-Enix published the original Bravely Default: Flying Fairy title for the Nintendo 3DS. The game launched in October 2012 in Japan. It later received an enhanced version, Bravely Default: For the Sequel in December 2013.  It was later released in North America in February of 2014.  A sequel, Bravely Second: End Layer, was released in Japan in April 2015 and later in North America in April of this year.

No further information about the new smartphone game has been released as of yet.
