Play Overwatch for free on PS4 and Xbox One this weekend

By Keith MitchellSeptember 9, 2016

Blizzard is letting both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 gamers a chance to check out their 6v6 hero shooter, Overwatch, this weekend. From September 9th – 12, gamers will be able to fire up as many sessions as they want, and if you haven’t had a chance to play the game yet then this is the perfect chance to so. Gamers will have full access to the game, so they’ll be able to try out everything the game has to offer – Quickplay, Weekly Brawl, custom matches, all 22 characters and every map available in the game.

PlayStation 4 owners will not be required to have an activate PSN account, however, Xbox gamers will need to have an active Xbox  Live Gold membership to play. In addition, all experience and items earned during the weekend will carry over to the full paid version, should anyone decide to pick up the game after the free weekend.

In addition, it looks like this is when Blizzard will be rolling out their newest Assault / Escort map, Eichenwalde.

For more information on what to expect and when the free weekend begins for your time long, head on over to the PlayOverwatch website here. Be sure to check out our Overwatch PC review here as well, in case you missed it the first time.
