During the recent State of Play Japan event, Bandai Namco and Fromsoftware dropped the bombshell for Soulslike fans, that the DLC for Elden Ring Nightreign The Forsaken Hollows is not only real, but will be released in less than a month from now, on December 4th, 2025. Yeah, we knew that DLC was eventually going to be coming, but we all assumed that would be in 2026.
Check out the trailer, and get excited like I am.
This new DLC will include two new Wayfarers, the Scholar and Undertaker. Scholar: An academic who walks the Lands Between. Boasting impressive arcane levels, he gains incredible advantages through battlefield observation. Undertaker: An abbess who was mandated to slay the Nightlord. Boasting impressive strength and faith, she sends enemies to the afterlife with ruthless efficiency.
The new location we’ll be able to play on is called The Great Hollow, which is a great cavity in the depths of Limveld. Full of exotic ruins and temples, sacred towers denoting the remains of an ancient people; and crystals that exude a cursed, life-draining miasma.
The door that is behind the small Jar Bazaar is also now open, which shows an altar of sorts behind it.
Now, the Press Release says that two new bosses will also be included, but in addition to those, I’ve seen Knight Artorias from the Dark Souls DLC Artorias of the Abyss, the Divine Beast Dancing Lion and is that… Bayle the Dread from Elden Ring, in the trailer?
Gladius appears to have its own raid, similar to how Augur, Margit, Sentient Pest and Equilibrious Beast did in the base game. There’s likely more as well.
The new bosses appear to be this angelic boss and whatever that was at the end of the trailer.
It all sounds like fun and I’m looking forward to dying repeatedly, while I figure it all out.
Elden Ring Nightreign is currently available right now for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).
