I’m sure everyone will agree with me that we are lucky to be in the midst of a fighting game revival. For the past year and going into 2012 we’ve releases such as Street Fighter 4, Super Street Fighter 4, Marvel vs Capcom 3, BlazBlue, Mortal Kombat and are waiting more entries such as Street Fighter x Tekken, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Soul Calibur 5, SkullGirls, Dead or Alive 5 and probably a few games I’ve forgotten about. But then something happen – a fighting game came out of nowhere that managed to catch the attention of anyone who is remotely interested in either fighting games or a particular RPG series.
Yes, I am referring to the fighting game Persona 4 The Ultimate In Mayonaka Arena – and based off what I’ve seen so far, I’m pretty excited for the game, namely due to the art direction. The animation quality is simply beautiful and seeing it in motion is breathtaking. Did I mention that Arc System Works is collaborating with Atlus on this title as well? Sure, I admit I’ve never played a Person game, but I am planning on picking up a PS2 to play them just so I can become acquainted with the characters and storyline. Well, that as well as the praise I’ve heard of it being a great RPG series that I unfortunately skipped since trading in my PS2 for a Ps3 with no backwards compatibility…. ARGH!!!!
But enough with my ramblings. Yes, enjoy the beautiful trailer that Atlus recently revealed instead.
