Our first two “Path to Launch” blogs discussed improvements to some of Firefall’s core systems, but this week we’re excited to begin our foray into the topic of brand new content. This week’s subject is only a glimpse at one part of a much larger array of content, but it is arguably the most important part. Anyone who pays attention to zone chat in New Eden knows that the first question asked by most new players who appear in Copa is “so, what do I do now?” To provide an easy answer to that question, we are introducing a new type of mission that we call an ARES Job.
Get your scan hammers and thumpers ready because this coming weekend is another bonus resource weekend! Starting on Friday, June 20th at 5:00pm PDT and running until Monday, June 23rd at 5:00pm PDT, resource rewards will be increased for all players by 25%! It's a great time to stock up on resources to reach your next goal in the Resource Migration Event!
Our Resource Migration Event has begun! You can now turn in your Beta Resources to the "Accord War Bond Vendors" that we have placed in the world. There are two in each POI (generally one close to the printer and one close to the SIN tower) and one in each pocket, and their locations will be marked on your global map. You can keep track of how many resources you have turned in in the achievements menu up until you reach two million and complete the final achievement. Read on for more information including the list of prizes.
This week we showed how little we care about Friday the 13th with special guest, Frank's cat! Oh, and we also had Lukasz, one of our UI/UX wizards on the show to show off some of the work he's been doing, particularly with our Inventory system. We took another round of questions in our Copa Call-In Q&A session, and three very strong entries went head-to-head in our Do You Even Art Bro segment. To cap it off, we got to watch people make fun of our Community Team in this week's Caption This. Read on for a full recap.
An ARES team on nighttime patrol came across a strange sight 4 days ago when a mysterious glow drew them to a small clearing. They found the source of the glow to be an unfamiliar substance covering three dead bandits. Between the bandits they found an animal they did not recognize. Further investigation revealed that it was injured and unconscious, but alive. Accord scientists have been studying the animal. Read on for their full report.
