Com2uS (CEO Jae-kwan Nam) announced that it is developing a new game based on the popular Japanese anime “I Left My A-Rank Party to Help My Former Students Reach the Dungeon Depths!” (hereinafter A-Rank Party).
Com2uS has signed a licensing agreement with Kodansha, the IP rights holder, to develop and globally publish the game based on the A-Rank Party anime. The company plans to capture the core appeal of the original work while adding its own gameplay elements, expanding the IP experience into interactive game content.
A-Rank Party began as a light novel and was later published as a comic series, surpassing 1.8 million copies in cumulative sales. The IP has continued to grow its global fanbase through its TV anime adaptation. The story follows the protagonist, the Red Mage Yuke, who leaves the top-ranked party and reunites with his former students to challenge the depths of a dungeon. With its rising popularity, a second season of the TV anime is currently in production.
The game development project was unveiled as a surprise announcement at AnimeJapan 2026 held in Tokyo, Japan on March 29. During the stage event at the Com2uS booth, anime voice actors appeared on the central stage while the game project was revealed on a large screen, drawing strong attention from visitors at the venue.
Com2uS connected with fans through stage events, game demos, and interactive activities centered around its upcoming titles, including TOUGEN ANKI Crimson Inferno and GACHIAKUTA: The Game (working title), in addition to the A-Rank Party game announcement. Com2uS plans to continue strengthening its global presence by sequentially unveiling high-quality titles based on popular anime IPs currently in development
The details of what kind of game it will be are classified as an Interactive RPG. No word on whether that will be turn-based combat or action combat.
